Documentary and street photography is something I do for the sheer joy of being part of the events that shape our society. I also enjoy it because this genre of photography is really important in constructing histories of people and places. Thanks to famous photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Sebastiao Selgado we are able to visit distant places and cultures through the visual records they created. While portraiture anchors and grounds us in the here and now and makes our memories real and concrete, documentary photography takes us out of our world into the lives of others. This is the really exciting part of being out there, rain or shine, trying not to miss every intricate detail of the event unfolding in front of you.
I am available for commissions and bookings to photograph news stories and events for press or web content.
